After listening to Mo’s story, Frankenstein is faced with a decision; he is asked to form another creature like Mo as his mate. If he complies with this request, Mo promises to leave his maker alone. Agreeing to this arrangement would lift an enormous burden from both of their shoulders. The guilt of the danger the monster poses to the world could end, as he would be far away from any other people. It would also right the wrong he had done by abandoning his creation; Mo would also have companionship, something fundamentally important to life. The pain both monster and creator feel would vanish, and each could move on with their lives. There are risks that come along with Mo’s request, however. It is possible that the monster would go back on his promise, or that one of his descendants might turn on him. It is also possible that Frankenstein would not be able to repeat the results of the experiment that led to Mo’s existence. This could lead to even greater anguish and rage from Mo, and as a result for Frankenstein as well.

If Frankenstein did not create a mate, Mo would turn his wrath on him and take revenge. In his mind, it would be making right the wrong caused by his creator. Frankenstein would be in constant fear for his friends and family, as well as himself. He would at least have some dignity left, as well as a clearer conscience due to the fact that he did not repeat his mistake of bringing another beast into the world. I believe that Frankenstein should create a mate for Mo, as it would most likely have the best outcome for everyone. Although there is risk involved, and he would lose some of his dignity by going back to the dark place where his whole ordeal began, it would end the majority of his and Mo’s struggles. Frankenstein, and the rest of the world, would be safe, and Mo would be satisfied.
